Abraham Bloemaert (1564-1651)
Dutch painter and engraver of the golden age. He had a very strong influence on the development of painting in Utrecht at the transitional period between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. He was a representative of Mannerism important before developing classicism.
In 1591 he moved to Paris where he remained until 1583. After a brief stay in Amsterdam, he returned to Utrecht where he stayed until the end of his life.
