George Avlichos - Γεώργιος Άβλιχος-(born in Lixouri in 1842, died in Argostoli in 1909) was a Greek painter also likes poetry and music.
His family was of German origin as the Aulich. A close relative was the poet and anarchist Mikelis Avlichos. He studied painting at the University of Naples liberal studies before continuing to Germany where he settled permanently on the island of Kefalonia.
He wrote a poetic drama in demotic "The Destruction of Psara" that was represented in Argostoli in 1888.
He was one of the first to depart from the strict classical realism. His painting is mainly devoted to portraits and genre pictures.
