Pierre Auguste Cot, Bédarieux born February 17, 1837 and died in July 1883, is an academic painter and portraitist French.
He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Toulouse and then Paris, where he studied with Leon Cogniet, Alexandre Cabanel and William Bouguereau. Became popular in the late 1870s, he is one of the juries of the Salon de Paris and the Prix de Rome.
Pierre Auguste Cot was among other students Ellen Day Hale (1855-1940) and Anna Klumpke.
