Thomas Pollock Anshutz (1851 - 1917) was an American naturalist painter.
He studied painting in Paris at the Académie Julian and in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, especially under the guidance of Thomas Eakins.
In 1886 he himself became one of the professors of the academy and in the painters Robert Henry, William Glackens, Charles Grafly, Nelson Poole, John Sloan and Everett Shinn among his pupils. The portraits, scenes from the life of every day, landscapes and seascapes he painted in a figurative style, are his favorite subjects.
